Black wife and white husband

Hola amigos. and amigas me and my husband been married for 15 years and still going strong has ever plus we have 6 beautiful children 3 ninos and 3 ninas the names are Miguelito,Antonio, Javier, Angelique, Ayanna, and paquito Dominique and one on the way until 14 Octobre 2012. My husband race is 50% Puerto Rican, due to his grandfather, father than 25% Scandinavian, 25% Lithuanian do to his father mother and that is who Orias,Lucifer Strungys is 100%. I, the wife, my race 50% Dominican a due to my padre who is originally from DR and came to the US in Michigan in West Detroit during when he was a teenager. 25%, Blackfoot Cherokee to my grandmother 5% Mexican due to my great grandmother 10% Afro-American due to my great grandfather and last 10% Irish-American due my great grandmother blood line with the Phillips, and Campbell’s. Now that is 100% of who I am . One thing that get my nerves and my husband nerves every time we walk out the door in Brooklyn New York, in Brownsville the most ghetto of places, African Americans always dissecting are nationality you are Black and he is White. that irritates the hell out of us. People need to get educated about genetics really before you speak to me, our children and our kids get the real brunt of racism in the daytime. Some of the ignorant Puerto Ricans who want to be black so bad and hang with Afro- American always calling them white people and that makes my eldest, middle son so upset when their own kind be little them. it is a crying shame. Me well when I tell a Latina I’m Afro-Latina they look at me like I lost my mind than they say the most idiotic thing you are Black!! I just shake my head and walk away just disgusted at times but when they see my eldest daughter oh she Borichua because she is light skinned with fine hair it is just unreal. Than they drawn to my husband some of these Puerto-Ricans talking Esponal to him me they start speaking English Wow!!! that is all I have to say. The reason why he is of lighter skin. Don’t get me wrong I’m mocha-cinnamon colored woman I love who I’m and he loves it too best believe that it just the stupidity that people have of us and are relationship in what I always say GET A DAMN CLUE PLEASE and in Spanish Yo siempre digo que un BLEDO PISTA POR FAVOR

This site is suppose to be a safe haven for mixed couples. I really don’t understand some of the negative feedback! I do, however, get need for the whole “racial/ethnic” categorization because it is a very sensitive subject for many. I do want everyone to understand that this was a system put in place to divide people in general specifically those who are of color; very sad, but true. I am new to this site and did notice that a lot of Black/African Americans felt the need to put “Native American” as a part of there race description. My thoughts are if it’s not within a generation or two why add it? I don’t mean offend anyone so please forgive me. I was just curious. I do think that everyone should be proud of who they are and what they bring into the relationship! Good luck!

OMG – what are you trying to say with all those letters haphazardly put together? I’ve never been able to understand the need to break down ethnicity to the nth degree, so can someone please explain WHY blacks and those who looks black feel the need to clarify they aren’t REALLY black; only degrees of such… 10%, 5%, 50%… In the real world, if you look black, or white or Asian, guess what people think you are? Why the need to clarify you aren’t what you look like? Also, honestly, no one cares what your children look like or are, and whether you have the ability to bear light skinned children, which apparently is VERY important to you. If you want to stick out from the norm, people will make sure to make fun of you and your marriage and your children. Do yourself a favor too; if your kids plan to have a shot in this world, make sure they speak and spell better than you. God, help them.

Dominicans are an mixed race, some are completely African Dominican, you look mostly African, I don’t understand how some people end up finding a spouse when they don’t love themselves first and foremost.

i understand that you are half dominican. but what is the other half on your mothers side? most people don’t understand that dominican republic is in the carribean and made up of african/spanish/european and even asian/inidan. this is why there is a such a wide variety of people in DR and also puerto rico. not ALL “latina” people are light. people are focusing more on the color more than the culture of which people are rooted in. some people have been raised very close minded being in a racist and prejudiced frame of mind where they label everyone and the color of someones skin is very important to them.it’s just plain ignorance. forgive them and hope that they get educated or learn real love and let go of the judgement and nationalistic and racist attitude.congratulations on your 15 years being together which is prob more than these haters could ever be in a happy relationship. it’s not easy to keep a relationship going this long with 6 children. so just stay strong, ignore these stupid people. and btw to noelle, yes hispanic people, surpise wear weaves too. actually every woman nowadays wears some form of fake hair. we are in the 21st century. free your minds and travel a little bit more.

Ma’am i honestly think your ignorant. I’m sorry but your not Hispanic. first of all, if you were “hispanic” then why are you wearing a weave? Secondly you got half of this off of google translate & your just an ignorant liar.. sorry , to say but you are.

NeytiriBlack September 30, 2012 at 7:43 am

What are you talking about, blacks aren’t the only ones who wear weaves, and there are African descendant Hispanics out there, you are the one who sounds ignorant.
