We get alot of his nationality that look at us like omg. His mom has tried to ruin our relationship time and time again for the first 4 years. She still doesn’t fully except me. It bothers me a little bc she treats our 5 children differently than her other grandchildren that are full Guatemalan. The reason it bothers me so is my kids know it. And my mom who loved them so much died 4 years ago.

we have more problems from “outsiders” that feel it is their business to make unnecessary comments. I am originally from Southern California while he is from South Carolina. Interracial couples are common, but people hate because of their own insecurities. We are happy, healthy and have great communication. This is the key to our success. Met 2000, dating 2002, married 2005. and it is 2015 now.

For the most part young people are more accepting of our relationship. But where we are from an area there are a lot of African people and they don’t seem to smile upon us especial if I am dressed more “ethnically ” ie a head wrap and skirt. we have found some white people to be more openly racist and alot of people are curious. but for the most part we are accepted.
